Finissage: June 13th 2014 from 06.00 pm • Address: Johannes Lübering GmbH | Industriestraße 4, 33442 Herzebrock-Clarholz • Opening times from Monday to Friday | 10.00 am - 05.00 pm
The North German painter, draughtsmen and graphic artist Otto Beckmann was born in 1945 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. At first he lived on the island, named Föhr and then in Lübeck-Travemünde. For three years he studied art at the teacher training college in Flensburg and then went into the school-teaching. In 1985 he gave up the teaching profession and became a freelance artist. Many journeys inspired him and gave him important impulses for his work. Otto Beckmann lives and works in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein and has created meanwhile an extensive erasing work.
There are about 100 works in the exhibition to see by Otto Beckmann. Some of them have been exclusively created for the exhibition. After the artist visited the company in Herzebrock, he was able to transfer, in his local studio, the new impressions, inspired by the work halls with their typical machines and tools, into his special skilled craft. Many of Beckmann’s current works unite painted and printed graphic elements in a surprising way. Not only the employees but also external and art-loving visitors can take a look at the thrilling and versatile works of Otto Beckmann as well as at the work routine of the company Lübbering. For which art has become a mediator, as a special communication level.
The exhibition took place from March 22nd until June 13th 2014 (finissage) at the headquarters of Johannes Lübbering GmbH in Herzebrock-Clarholz. By the presence of the artist for the varnishing on March 22nd, 2014 at 03.00 pm, the visitors had the possibility of taking a closer look at his works. The exhibition was inaugurated by Franziska Röchter (from Verl) with a lyrical poetic presentation.
